Another Month - Still Broke

Another month and still broke. I know - what should I expect with five kids, right? It's just the nature of the thing. I wouldn't trade my darlings for anything. My darlings like to eat - a lot!

I made a Shopping While Broke trip today. I had $3.35 in my purse - my goal - to see what I could get for that amount. (Note to concerned readers - I do have a bit more than 3.35 to my name - I just don't want to spend it)

My first stop - CVS. I was looking for a feminine protection item that was supposed to be free after Extra Bucks. Since I had an extrabuck for that amount, it would be free to me, other than tax. Of course, they were out of said product. However, I scanned my extracare card at their little scanner and a coupon popped out for $1.00 off a Pringles To Go cannister. Found the Pringles To Go and guess what? They were $1.00. Two cents for tax and I'm out the door.

Next stop - library - fun kids movies for my darlings - no cost to me (As long as I bring them back on time).

Next stop, Sheetz, for a free soft drink with my Sheetzcard.

Finally, another CVS. They, too, were out of the product I mentioned above. So, I used my 5.99 Extrabuck that was about to expire. I got: 1 gallon of milk (we go through a lot of milk), one jar of peanut butter, on sale, and one five-pack of pretzel cheese snacks. Used my extrabuck and paid 64 cents.

Total out of pocket today: 66 cents.

Could I have done better with coupons - like for the peanut butter? Yeah, probably - but I'm happy with what I have.

Until the next bargain,
Kim
